Campers at the Trade River Campground need Vehicle Stickers, Camping Fees and Trail passes. Riders parking at the Trade River Day Use Area or North Horse Trail Parking Area need Trail Passes.

Wisconsin Trail Pass
$20 annual, $4 daily
All riders 16 and older are required to have a trail pass. An annual pass is $20, a day pass is $4. You can buy passes at the:
1.) Trade River Campground
2.) Governor Knowles State Forest Headquarters at 325 State Road 70 in Grantsburg, Wi
3.) Polk County Information Center in St. Croix Falls, WI at intersection of Hwy 8 & Hwy 35
Hours of Operation
Governor Knowles State Forest equestrian trails are open year round.
Trade River Campground is open year round. However, once the temperature drops below 25 degrees the running water and outhouses are shutdown. Quiet time at the campground starts at 11:00 pm.
